Groups, the individuals within them and their carers, helpers or facilitators are integral to the idea of Made by Fun.

If you are a member of a group within which everybody has a permanent disability, or is perhaps recovering from a mental illness you could become the Made by Fun story. If you make artwork regularly it too could become the Made by Fun story. OK, we’ll level with you from the start, your artwork will often need to be cut up, but we hope you’ll understand the reasons why and are eventually happy that it is!

Made by Fun takes an activity that you already enjoy, making art, and repurposes that art into beautiful products. Your art is collected at a local hub that controls all interaction with customers so that you and everyone associated with your group are never under any pressure.

The magic happens when your artwork is transformed into beautiful products and decoration for products that are sold to local businesses, retailers and individuals.

Whenever these local businesses sell a product in packaging that is Made by Fun, or pass a special “work of art” business card on to a client they will pass on your story too.

The hope is that their customers will communicate with your group and share the Made by Fun message. Meaning your story is heard where it otherwise would not have been heard and that you and your carers receive some new love and support via social media.

What you choose to share will always be up to you and your carers.

It all seems very straight forward, but there is a lot to learn in order to turn this concept into a reality. The first step is all about the artwork, so it is important that we find groups that we can talk to and get their input. If you are from a group that:

  • Is made up of individuals that require constant care or are in recovery from a mental illness.

  • Has art classes of your own at least once a week, and a good deal of that art doesn’t have a home at the end of class.

  • Ideally, is able to give permission to take part in a pilot project with Made by Fun without the need of referring to a third-party organisation.

  • Is happy for photographs of your group enjoying art activities to be shared on this web site and on the Made by Fun Facebook page
